Polymorphics
Polymorphics is a term I believe applicable to the following images. Not truly surreal, there is no sub-conscience thought nor do they stem from a dream nearly remembered, nor are they abstract in any sense. They are closer to cubism which warps time and space in a stationary two-dimensional medium. But they aren’t truly cubism either. Cubism strives to create a sense now time and movement using unreal representations of both subject and surrounding background. Whereas polymorphics employs photo-realistic scenes and the subjects move in different perspectives and positions within the scene evoking movement over time. It’s more akin to translating real life objects or people, capturing into an image and then having them morph into many identical objects or people but with varying perspectives or locations within in the image. My goal is to create images with the subject(s) appearing as if they changed their position in the scene and you retain the vision of where the subjects once were.
